Merry Christmas

Happy Christmas folks,

not played a lot in the lead up to Christmas but played a small session on the 22nd and played some today, plenty Christmas fish out and about so couldn't resist. Ran good too which is always nice just over 1/2 a stack above EV.

Been playing a lot tighter in general, as my database grows been able to make soem minor adjustments to my preflop range which has really fixed some leaks. Combine this with my table selection (which given at 4NL isnt that important) and it has lead to a significantly improved and sustainable win rate. My biggest improvement is definitely iso'ing pre with smaller raises with marginal hands as well as not calling 3bets oop so often to set mine HU.

So yea a few interesting hands

So there was history here, previous 2 orbits villain had flatted from the BB vs my open and folded to a turn c-bet. So i figure given his tendency to open jam aces and donk any street when he makes his hand that it was unlikely for him to c/r small on such a board with a nut hand. If he had c/r the flop large I may have given credit but given his sizing and our previous history it was unlikely. So I don't mind re-evaluating the turn. Ott a major factor here is his stack size. OTR his bet sizing is ridc, and given his fishyness I just don't give him credit for a hand. With his previous actions with and made hand I figure if the Q hit him then he would just jam the river, with top pair or better on the flop he would of led and he left himself the right amount to fold to a shove.

Villain is 67%  won at showdown with a 40% got to showdown so that made me lean heavily towards folding. He showed which made me feel like a genius, was unsure what to do OTT was thinking raise to charge the large # of straight and FD but with a combo draw that would be a great spot to jam and then obv I would have to fold a big % of my range, not sure if that's a good enough reason to flat here but hey ho.

So over the last 3k hands my graph looks something like this, gives me a winrate of 18.1bb/100 which I don't think is sustainable in the uber long run, and for now I am running slightly below EV (which is not bad considering at one point I was way way below [about 2k hands in])  Worth noting is my high W$w/oSD which is almost 100bbs over 3k hands which is imo very nice, ofc thats cos there are many Weak passive players at 4NL and as I transition back into 10NL I am gonna have to cut back on barreling the turn in order to not spew as regs will be more aware.

Anyhows, happy christmas and as always run good and have a nice day :-)
